I want to pay tribute to wonderful people I have known, the wonderful country in which I live, the communities in which I have lived, the churches who have claimed me as their own, the God who sends shivers down my back when I really give him a portion of my time—well, maybe not shivers but tears flow easily in some of those most priceless times.

“I won,” said Papa Sammy. Six-year-old Pete sat sad faced. Not only had he lost but he lost by 28 Uno cards! He quietly and thoughtfully said, “Can I call my Dad?” Call his Dad! Pete lost the game … Continue reading

LET’S HEAR IT FOR ALEX
THIS IS NOT A POST FOR MEN! This is a post for women mostly younger than I. (Who is not?) My generation started the “women in the work force” movement – the time for women to be free – whoopee! … Continue reading

SO QUICKLY WE FORGET
May has gone. Mother’s Day has passed. Memorial Day forgotten. I’m not complaining, just thinking how we celebrate and/or grieve, but life goes on. I’m glad that happens. But I’m sorry sometimes that I don’t hang on to “special” moments … Continue reading

REAL MEN DON’T EAT QUICHE, THEY SAY.
OH, DON’T THEY? Does that mean they don’t have a cultured side? Does that mean they don’t have a “feminine” side – they can’t be emotional, loving, tender, caring, forgiving, unselfish, patient, give themselves to the service of others? Perhaps … Continue reading
